Soccer
Meet our Competetive Soccer Director, Marie Bushor.
Marie Bushor has been with G.Y.A.A. since July of 2006 as the Secretary, as well as a sports parent. She has been a summer camp coordinator, done some fundraising, and helped with special events, such as the Memorial Day Tournament, the Fall Playoffs for Pioneer Valley and the Volunteer Appreciation Dinners. She oversaw the creation of the G.Y.A.A. website, and is currently hoping to head up a committee to select our new soccer uniforms. If anyone would like to join in. I am also on the Memorial Day Tournament committee, as the Marketing and PR person.
Marie believes that being part of a sports team can provide a sense of self-confidence through achievement, create friendships and promote physical fitness.
New Uniforms
Next year, we will begin the process of ordering new uniforms. Typically, a set of uniforms are worn for 3 years, or 6 seasons. Since the research and trial use of uniform jerseys takes a while, we like to start looking at our options about 9 months to a year ahead of time.
This time, we would like to form a committee to handle the facilitation of our uniform purchase. The committee should include members of the board, as well as parents who might have valuable input.
If you are interested in being part of this committee, please contact Marie Bushor, either by phone or email, both of which can be found on the Home Page of this website. Thank you!!
Thanks!
The GYAA would like to thank Dan Paradis of Montgomery for all of his hard work in heading up the Coaches Education Committee. The Committee successfully put together booklets with guidelines for soccer from pee wee to pre-high school levels.
We would also like to thank Kirsten Henshaw for her years of service to this organization as the Recreational Soccer Coordinator. Her efforts in bringing a successful recreational soccer program to the younger players in our community are greatly appreciated!
Our new Recreational Soccer Coordinator is Trish Carpenter. She is getting started, learning the ropes, and looking forward to another successful season!
